About New Light Christian Center Chicago
New Light Christian Center Chicago is a nondenominational church of God located in Chicago, IL and is headed and founded by Minister Diann Reed, an Ordained Minister. We are a residential religious organization exempt from filing annual financial reports under the Charitable Trust Act and Solicitations Act and have completed all Illinois State legal licensing for recognition.
About Minister Diann Reed
Minister Diann received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1983 and was baptized in 1986. She presently rents a hotel site in the Holiday Inn and Suites in the heart of the city loop every Thursday evenings as her Bible study site and as led by a calling given in 2016.
Minister Diann has served throughout Illinois prisons, jails, and detention centers, including adult and juvenile prisons throughout Illinois since 2002. She served Logan Women’s Correctional Center, formally known as Dwight Correctional Center, Decatur Correctional Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, CCDOC, and Warrenville Youth Facility, among others. Minister Diann also worked as an advocate in the Prison Ministry Pen Pals, reaching as well the non-incarcerated in Pen Pals to minister through her as she scribes.
It was an operation that proved fruitful in the lives of many as it was a gift of teaching biblical meditation to others for 90 days via the US mail system. The goal was to help the sickle cell children and their parents prepare the attendees in the Word of God, including the seniors.
Minister Diann taught detainees how to be free in the system of incarceration. She became a prayer warrior for detainees and taught detainees how to pray. “If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then they will hear from heaven, and I will heal them, and I will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Minister Diann was an encourager to the detainees as well as for their families and children. She did everything through faith ministering.
